Everyone knows dogs have a fantastic sense of smell, but do you know the true power behind their nose?

What surprises most people isn't what their dog's nose can do (although that is impressive, too) - it's the impact that sniffing has on their dog and their relationship.

Scent-based activities are for any dog, regardless of breed, age or quirks. They give your dog's nose and brain a proper workout and a real sense of purpose.

Follow the scent trail of a human and find items they’ve left behind along the way. Builds focus, confidence and problem-solving skills.

Take scent from a personal item and find the “missing person” - for fun. Similar benefits to tracking, with the thrill of finding a person.

About Talk Bark

📍Rushden, Northants based dog trainer

Dogs' primary sense is smell, and for most of history they used it constantly - hunting, tracking, guarding. Today, dinner is served in a bowl and meaningful sniffing opportunities are few and far between. For a lot of dogs, that gap shows.

That's where I come in.

I specialise in scent-based activities - scentwork, trailing/mantrailing and tracking. It gives your dog the mental stimulation they've been missing, tires them out in ways you can only dream of, and helps build confidence and your bond.

I work with all dogs - including reactive and anxious dogs, and those affected by the so-called Dangerous Dogs Act.

"We have been taking a rescue dog to scent work classes. Karina has been so patient with him and he is now progressing so nicely. Great to have one to one classes especially for reactive/overstimulated dogs and working to suit the individual dog in front of her."
